3 Things You Need To Know 3-10-10
1. UKROPS TO CLOSE FOR RENOVATIONS
As Ukrops gets ready for the takeover of Martin's, expect to see their stores closing quickly. Each of the 25 Ukrops stores in our area will be closing for a week each in rotations of about 4 or 5 at a time while updates are made to the grocery stores. During that time, crews will upgrade the lighting, install new signs, and bring new tables and chairs to all of the cafes. Wireless internet and self-checkout lanes will also go in the stores that don't currently have them. Martin's will officially take over for Ukrops in April.
2. DRINKING IN MODERATION CAN HELP WEIGHT LOSS
New studies show that women who drink one four-ounce glass of wine or one 12-ounce beer per day were less likely to gain weight over time. Although doctors in the study aren't sure of the exact reason, they say that after one drink women are less likely to do a lot of snacking, which can lead to extra calorie intake late at night.
3. 3-D TVs AVAILABLE TODAY
Starting this week you can upgrade your home theater experience with a 3D TV! Companies like Samsung and Panasonic will unveil their new technology, which will cost you about $3000. While the 3-D effects are supposed to be just like how they are in the theater, if you aren't wearing the special glasses the screen will just appear blurry... and those glasses will cost you -- they run about $200/pair.
