Vegas Resort Bans Paris Hilton, "Separates" From Her Manager Boyfriend

Paris Hilton has few less places to rest her head after a night of partying in Las Vegas. A spokesman for the Wynn and Encore resorts tells People.com that the celebrity heiress has been banned from the Las Vegas properties. The move follows Hilton's arrest Friday for cocaine possession. Wynn Las Vegas also announced in a statement that Paris' boyfriend, Cy Waits, who was also arrested Friday, has been, quote, "separated from the company and is free to pursue other interests." Waits was promoted to Co-Chief of Nightlife Operations at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore just days before his arrest. He and Hilton were pulled over after police smelled marijuana coming from the car they were traveling in.

Hilton was taken inside the Wynn where what has been described as a "small bindle" of cocaine, allegedly fell out of her purse. She was charged this week with felony possession of a controlled substance. The charge carries a jail term of one to four years. Waits, meantime, has yet to be charged, although a police report says he did fail a field sobriety test at the time of his arrest.

Police Shoot Discovery Gunman To Spare Hostages' Lives

Police shot and killed a man who had taken hostages at the headquarters of the Discovery Channel when the hostages' lives were threatened on Wednesday. A man identified as James Lee, who had a history of conflict with the cable channel, invaded the company's Silver Spring, Maryland offices early in the afternoon. Police sealed the area off and evacuated the building where nearly 19-hundred people work. Montgomery County Police Chief Tom Manger [[MANGE-ur]] said afterward officers had been watching the drama on a building security camera while a police negotiator spoke with the gunman. Lee was shot and killed when he pointed his pistol at one of the three men he was holding hostage. Manger told reporters "A hostage moved, he pulled his gun, and a shot was taken."

Lee, who lists a San Diego, California, address as his home, was arrested in February 2008 after throwing money into the air in a protest outside the Discovery building. A website registered in Lee's name contained demands that the channel air programming urging people to stop having babies. David Leavy, a Discovery Channel spokesman, said the business was aware of Lee but, quote, "did not take his threats or demands seriously." Discovery Channel's programming includes shows like "American Chopper," "Cash Cab," and "Dinosaur Planet."

Zeta-Jones Opens Up About Husband's Cancer Battle

Actor Michael Douglas isn't the only one opening up about his battle with stage four throat cancer. His wife, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, tells "People" magazine she is furious doctors didn't detect the cancer earlier. Zeta-Jones says her Oscar-winning husband spent months seeking medical attention for persistent pain in his throat and ears, but claims he didn't get any answers on what was wrong until August. Douglas is now undergoing chemotherapy and radiation to treat the walnut-sized tumor at the base of his tongue. On "The Late Show with David Letterman" yesterday, the 65-year-old actor said doctors have given him an 80-percent chance of recovery. However, Zeta-Jones says the hardest part is watching her husband lose his strength. The actress has been married to Douglas for the past ten years. The couple has two children together.

Would-Be "Dancing With The Stars" Contestants Revealed

The world now knows who will be "Dancing With The Stars" when the show returns to the airwaves in a few weeks. HollywoodReporter.com's "Live Feed" blog is now revealing the list of "could have beens" -- had any of them said yes. The blog cites a source connected with the ABC series that says billionaire Richard Branson, former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, actor Sylvester Stallone, and conservative pundit Ann Coulter were all approached to hoof it on national TV. Also on the casting wish-list for season eleven were sitcom veterans Tim Allen and Suzanne Somers, the real Erin Brockovich, and Facebook mogul Mark Zuckerberg.

"Dancing" executive producer Conrad Green says of the seasonal search for talent, quote, "We've approached a lot of people over the years. People say no for a variety of reasons. Some people like the show but think they suck at dancing. It's a lot easier to say no than it is to say yes." Naysayers approached for "Dancing" in the past reportedly include "Community" star Joel McHale, "Cheers" actress Kirstie Alley, and comedian Drew Carey.

Those who are on board for the next season include R&B singer Brandy, NFL star Kurt Warner, actor David Hasselhoff, and Bristol Palin, the daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin. The new season of "Dancing With The Stars" is set to premiere on Monday, September 20th.

An insider says, quote, "Heidi's made it very clear that she is not interested in releasing any tapes...It looks like she pulled the kill switch." Pratt is also reportedly concerned that releasing the video would further destroy the relationship he has with Montag. The couple's divorce is expected to be final on Valentine's Day next year. Pratt reportedly told Vivid Entertainment CEO Steven Hirsch that he mistakenly thought a paycheck of five-million-dollars would be enough to convince Montag to get on board with the idea. TMZ.com is reporting that Francesca Spero has filed a lawsuit in federal court in New York alleging that she was terminated over her age and disability. Spero -- who worked as an executive at Bad Boy since 1998 -- claims she began feuding with Diddy in 2008 after she told him she needed major hip surgery and subsequently suffered a relapse to an addiction to prescription medication and alcohol. The lawsuit alleges that Diddy was "unsympathetic to her condition" and attempted to freeze her out of the company. Spero claims she continued to sign new artists to Bad Boy, but was ultimately fired last March.

The 51-year-old says she was eventually replaced by a woman who is ten to 15 years younger, and lacked her skills and experience. Spero is now seeking 12-million dollars from Diddy and his publishing and management companies for age and disability discrimination. Diddy is currently preparing for the release of his new album, "Last Train to Paris." The record is due in stores on October 12th.

Levin filed a suit of his own seeking 128-thousand dollars in unpaid business management fees. He alleged that when he was hired by Cage in 2001 the actor already owed millions in unpaid income taxes and was flirting with his financial demise.

Had the case gone to trial, Levin was expected to detail Cage's elaborate spending habits which, according to legal documents, included, quote, "15 palatial homes around the world, four yachts, an island in the Bahamas, a Gulfstream jet, millions of dollars in jewelry and art." "Hollywood Reporter" Compares "Machete" Character To Arpaio

There's a character in the new film "Machete" that's drawing comparisons to a real-life Arizona lawman. "The Hollywood Reporter" is describing the film's Lieutenant Stillman, as a, quote, "kind of avatar for Maricopa County's Sheriff Joe Arpaio." Don Johnson plays Stillman, a ruthless enforcer who has zero tolerance for illegal immigration. Johnson says Stillman is hard to like in the movie. Johnson says of his character, quote, "He's the devil, basically, on the border. He's responsible for single-handedly stopping the flow of illegals crossing the border with extreme prejudice."

According to "The Arizona Republic," "Machete" caught the attention of supporters of Arizona Senate Bill 1070 when its trailer, released this Spring, referenced the Grand Canyon state. SB 1070 consists of strict anti-immigration enforcement measures -- supported by Arpaio -- which have spurred controversy nationwide. Directed by Robert Rodriguez, the film also stars Danny Trejo as the title character, Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez. "Machete" opens in theaters on Friday.
